Bexar County Jail

Good Behavior

Interview with John, Raquel, Colby, Nikki, Lea and Hoyllwood

JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
John: It was brought up to the judge when it came to sentencing that I served and was on good behavior and my time was reduced so yes.
Raquel: No.
Colby: No
Nikki: no, I did not inquire about this
Lea: I could have because i was in a trustee pod i was not there long enough.
Hoyllwood: Good behavior? Thats a joke. In the words of an officer that brought me in,"Everyone who enters is a piece of shit and deserves to be here."

JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
John: 1 day served equals three days if you are on good behavior and a trustee. I would have had to be there two months if it wasn't for that.
Nikki: I think it is 2 for 1
Lea: If you are in a trustee pod you automatically get your days 2 for one. if you become a trustee your days are 3 for one... meaning if your sentenced to 3 months you only serve one. Tell them you want to work as soon as you get there.
Hoyllwood: ???

JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off?
John: Need to stay out of legal trouble.
Colby: Infractions with Personal or Inmates
Nikki: do not get in any trouble, no contraband, no discipline reports
Lea: Drugs, hair bands, food when your not supposed to have it.
Hoyllwood: I guess fighting...

My sons father owes close to 40,000 and he goes there sits awhile and then gets out only for the process to start over again. Maybe after a person goes to jail so many times he should be required to serve out his sentence with no time off.
